A vibrant community of older adults, serving the Monadnock Region
Line Dancing Continues through August
August 10, 17, 24, 31
Dancing is a unique form of exercise, providing the heart-healthy benefits of aerobic exercise while allowing you to engage in a social activity. Line dancing can:
Improve your balance
Help you find the beat
Teach you basic footwork
Provide you with a dance outlet where you do not need a partner.
If you have not already participated in this activity, then give line dancing a try! It is a lot of fun!
It’s time to register for the DeMar Marathon on Sunday September 24, 2017.
Come into the Senior Center and pick up your registration form and log sheet on which you will track at least 25 miles of walking or jogging over the summer. Complete the log sheet and return it to the Keene Senior Center before September 1. You will then earn the chance to complete the last 1.2 miles of the official Clarence DeMar Marathon course on race day. Participating Seniors will receive a t-shirt and finisher’s medal.
Plan on coming to the pre-race dinner on Saturday, September 23 as well. For a nominal fee you will get a wonderful dinner provided by Linda Stavely. Sign up for the dinner will be in September.
Feed the Bats!
Every summer we provide a dinner for our very own Swamp Bats before their game. This year it is on Saturday, July 22.
There are donation boxes near the Front Desk to pay for the meal which we make and take to them.
We also need volunteers to cook the food, transport it to the field and serve and bring the left overs back to the Senior Center and clean up. There are sign-up sheets on the tables at the Senior Center. Please sign up to volunteer for this great community event!
Join in the fun—and come see the game!
