Keene Senior Center

A vibrant community of older adults, serving the Monadnock  Region

CHARITABLE BEQUEST:  Naming the Keene Senior Center in your will or living trust is a popular way to support the Senior Center. A charitable bequest can be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estat, or what remains after other bequests — including those to family members — are made. Or, your will can specify that your heirs receive lifetime income from your estate, with the remainder going to the Senior Center for charitable purposes .

CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITY: A charitable gift annuity allows you to arrange a future gift to the Keene Senior Center while receiving an income stream you can count on for the rest of your life and/or the life of a loved one. You can establish a gift annuity by transferring cash or securities to Senior Center and you will receive an immediate tax deduction for the charitable portion of your donation.

CHARITABLE IRA ROLLOVER: The Charitable IRA Rollover allows Americans 70 1/2 and older to make the gift of a lifetime by transferring IRA assets to charity without federal tax penalty.

REAL ESTATE:  The value of your real estate may exceed that of any other asset you own. With the help of the Keene Senior Center, you can turn your property's value into community good and receive financial and tax benefits. Proceeds from the eventual property sale will be used to carry out your charitable intentions.

LIFE INSURANCE:

For those whose need for life insurance has decreased, making a gift of an unneeded policy can be a convenient and effective way of meeting your charitable goals. When you transfer ownership of a cash value policy to the Keene Senior Center, then you become eligible for a charitable tax deduction based on its current value. A gift of life insurance can also be an important part of your estate planning.

RETIREMENT PLAN ASSETS:

For a gift through your estate, retirement plan assets are often the best to give because they are so heavily taxed if left to heirs. Income and estate taxes can easily consume over 65 percent of the account balance at death. By naming the Keene Senior Center as the remainder beneficiary of these assets, you can leave a very efficient legacy.

CHARITABLE REMAINDER TRUST:

A charitable remainder trust allows you to receive income (or provide income for another person) with the knowledge that when the trust terminates the remaining funds will be used to support the Keene Senior Center.
